Love it! A bit dark but the technique and composition are good, perhaps use an enhancer in a photo editor to boost the lighting on the picture? In the future most cameras have light adjustments that you can view the effects of in the view finder, or 'night' and 'evening' settings. This temperature would be perfect for a lot of building shots, but flowers usually look best bright. However I love the focus, and the idea behind it. It is indeed a beautiful picture. If you want to do something with a grey background perhaps try turning a bright full color photo black and white on a photo editor that allows you to "erase" the color back into the areas you want.
