I really like how you had the heart tilted, kind of upwards. Gives me that 'I'm looking but I can't find anything' feeling out of it. Excellent photograph, great eye
This is an image which, being a still life, you can tell was created by the artist, not "found" in the world. Although the image is creative, I rated originality lowest on this critique. This is because the subjects and the "emotion" conveyed in this image are "well worn" in still life photography.
That aside, the technique in this image is very strong. Focus, as mentioned, is spot on. Out of focus elements are also strong, and add depth and meaning to the overall image.
The bright out of focus highlights in the upper 1/2 of the image are a strong balance to the subject, placed on a strong intersection of "thirds", this helps balance the subject against the large crystal to the right which otherwise might steal some of the focus.
The impact in this image is extremely strong. Two strong shapes are highlighted, hearts and stars. Both have deep emotional meanings, and although the stars may not have been intentional the leave a strong emotive impression. They also add visual interest via a contrast of texture.
Texture in this image overall is good. Strong contrast between out of focus elements, jagged crystal and smooth metal. The metal being etched with the stars also adds a compelling bit of texture to image.
I reserve 5 star ratings for the best of the best. This is a very impactful image, and the rest of the attributes are strong as well.
Overall and image to be proud of. Well captured and full of meaning.
