The artist has taken advantage of the snowy landscape to bring out the contrasting dark shape of the plant. The focus is well adjusted; and I really enjoy how this allows the white of the snow on the plant and the darkness of the trees in the background add to the interplay between light and dark.
The photo is segmented vertically by the background tree-line and horizontally by the stem of the plan, and yet there is a delightful yin-yang curve created by the drooping branch that disperses this rigid geometry in the most playful of ways.
All in all, I cannot find anything I would change about this image.
