The purposeful positing of the subject as though she is hiding from the viewer, gives one an ire feeling; slightly alienated from her. This is a wonderful refection of the vision, impacting the audience powerfully; and striking them with a sense of confusion and slight upset, furthermore emphasizing a want to understand the narrative behind this girl.

The sfumato that is established is this photo was skilfully shot, as the tonal changes are so soft and delicate that they are hardly noticed, this gives the viewer a sense of unity; as though the model is one with the darkness. The organic lines of her body are seen almost with a sense of disgust, as she arches her back. In this vulnerable state the viewer is given such a sense of immediacy, as though she positions a question to them about how they view their own body; her single spying eye reinforcing this impact.

Such a wonderful refection of skilled photography and thoughtful choice of subject matter, as well as model.
