The model has a nice, healthy, clean complexsion, no or very little make up which is a pleasant change these days. So many photographers and models really so much on the use of make up now.
The lighting is interesting the priciple light appears to be focused on the reflective back screen which means you don't have a hard, harsh light directly onto the models face. It is also serving to separate the model away from the background.
The highlights, shadows and halftones are soft and not jaring, giving it an excellent soft tone. All in all a well thought out, well executed photograph. The only thing I would change about it is the title, it gives no feeling of a void in fact quite the opposite it is quite full of emotion and drama.
